Wasn't Born Hustlers I Was Burpin' em
Jay Z Unplugged (2001) is quite possibly the best live album that has ever been released. I will argue this point to the death, so don’t start with me.
Side note: Beyonce is on a very short list of people that I would kill….if it meant I had a chance with Jay Z. I would take her out without a second thought.
But The Way You Play Your Game Ain't Fair
Some people say that men and women can’t really be friends. I disagree. I have a wonderful male friend with whom I have no feeling other than friendly love for and I’m sure he feels the same way (we will call him A). Last night we had a very interesting conversation about the dynamic of men and women’s relationships.
A and I have a mutual friend (M) that I have a very weird...
And True Affection Floats
Why I love Pandora, Reason # 4597021. Nothing makes me happier than when Pandora hits the nail on the head with a song I’m going to LOVE.
I was out of your league….It’s an interesting idea. That some people are just better than others. We see people and we rate them, for no other reason than their physical appearance. Or we see a couple and we say, “Wow, he’s a 5 and...
Beware the Curse That Falls on Young Lovers
I love this song. It reminds me of that little switch that flips in your head when you go from just knowing someone to liking them. The button that turns on all the light bulbs in their name and you brain shines bright with the thoughts of talking to them and the next time you will see them. From not giving them a second thought to giving them every other thought. From them being just a speck in...
Pressure, Pushing Down on Me
I’m not going to complain about the fact that I have a job, or the fact that I am much needed in my job and have a wealth of job security….
What I AM going to complain about is the fact that everything has to happen all at once. Why can’t events, and functions, and the retarded amount of committees and board I am on all get together and look at my schedule and space things out...
They're My Friends
Saturday night two of my best girlfriends and I made plans to go out to dinner and then let the night take us where ever it wanted. We called a cab because when you “let the night take you where ever it wants to” it’s always best to leave your car at home…just trust me on this one. While waiting for the cab and trying on everything in each other’s suitcases we managed to consume 3 bottles of wine....

Home Is Whenever I'm With You.
I have three things to say about this song…
1. I love it.
2. What is up with the chic during this performance? I don’t know…Is it suppose to be all about being free and happy and jumping around like a freak (I guess) but when it distracts me from the song I’m not a fan. I’m always torn with people who seem totally comfortable in their own skin. How can you really...
FEAR
Today instead of blogging I’m going to tell you a little story..a story with a moral.
This criminal had committed a crime. (Because hey, that’s what criminals do. That’s their job.) Anyways, he was sent to the king for his punishment. The king told him he had a choice. He could be hung by a rope or take the punishment behind the big dark scary steel door. The criminal quickly...

I love being married. It's so great to find that...
Marriage.
It’s such a huge word that it alone deserves to be a sentence. I personally have never been married and don’t know if I ever want to be. I think marriage might be as dated of an idea as the stained glass windows of the churches they do it in. Of course I want the big party. I want to wear the beautiful dress and hold a bouquet of flowers (I mean how often do you get to do that??)....

Life Lesson # 18
You must relax and enjoy the ride.
It helps to remind yourself: You’re not the only one on this bumpy, curvy, frenetic, ride called life. You’re not being singled out by the fates to suffer, to feel pain, to be disappointed. Everyone on this planet experiences major disappointments and pain.

Im a horrible person. I will be back to blogging on a regular basis soon. Sometimes life just has a way of getting in the way of my self indulgent blogging fun!

B and I are still dating. It’s been 4.5 months since our first date and I am crazy about him. I know 4.5 months is just a drop in the bucket of life but when you factor in that on our second date he told me he wasn’t looking for any kind of relationship I feel like...

Falling in Love in Six Acts
It’s amazing the things we hold onto for the rest of our lives…This weekend I was doing some massive spring cleaning and I came across a Nike ad from the mid to late 90’s that I was in L-O-V-E with at the time. I remember reading it over and over again and even posting it on my bedroom wall. I know you are thinking. What? A Nike Ad? Yes!!!! This ad has been so important to me...
Watching You Is The Only Drug I Need
I can be quite the “Negative Nancy” when it comes to love and especially soul mates. Don’t get me wrong…The thought of finding your perfect other half is delightful. Imagining that God gave enough thought to your happiness that he created this person and placed them on the Earth just for you is the stuff fairy tales are made of.
I guess it’s suppose to go something...
Won't Brick Me Up, Won't Fence Me In...
It has been brought to my attention by more than one person that I haven’t been blogging. I was going to create a fantastic story about how Elton John, so overwhelmed by me dedicating a whole week of my blog to him kidnapped me from work. In my story he then took me to his home where we dressed in glittery body suits, laid in bed all day wearing sunglasses and eating grapes while Robert...

This week has been nothing short of a shit storm at work. I don’t know what the deal is but I guess it means my job is secure. EJW will have to be picked up next week…it’s way too important of a topic to rush through!
Later Tater.
UGH
So I just spent an hour fine tuning the post that would set the tone for EJW (Also know as Elton John Week) only to have it disappear on me. Totally not tumblr’s fault..maybe I should learn how to occassionally hit the save button?
I’m spent and I don’t have it in me to write it again. I will give you a Two 4 Tuesday tomorrow. Anyone want to take me our for a stiff drink?
Elton John Week
Out of the blue today I started thinking about Elton John and how many FREAKIN amazing songs he has written over his 30 plus year career span. I bet I could easily name 20 of his songs that I find “quite enjoyable” (said in a snotty English accent). It’s actually hard to pick favorites because you want to discredit the most popular ones, as to not wreck your street cred, but how...
See, It Was Just To Soon To Tell
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere. ~Glenn Turner
So anyone who knows me, works with me, or reads this blog knows that I have spent this week worrying about exactly what I should do for the upcoming lovefest we like to call Valentine’s Day. I knew I wanted to do something for B but I didn’t want to cross any “lines”...

But It Never Really Bothers Me
The first time I heard this song I was pretty much mesmerized. As I’ve said before there is nothing I love more than a song that tells a story. This song tell one doozy of a story…
A man who gets married early in life decides, after his wife dies in labor with their 4th child, that he is going to kill the other 3 so that he can start a new life without the bother of motherless...
Really Want To See You
There is just something about this song that I have always adored. It could be the soft spot I have for The Beatles or It could be the soft spot I have for the Lord.
I think in the grand scheme of things I should have just talked about my soft spot for the Lord before my soft spot for The Beatles….oh heck Potato, Potato (that phrase doesn’t work typed out…let’s call the...
