Home Is Whenever I’m With You.
I have three things to say about this song…
1. I love it.
2. What is up with the chic during this performance? I don’t know…Is it suppose to be all about being free and happy and jumping around like a freak (I guess) but when it distracts me from the song I’m not a fan. I’m always torn with people who seem totally comfortable in their own skin. How can you really not care what people think when you are running around acting like a fool??? Do you really not care or are you trying to be all “indie” and pretend not to care. Also, have you ever noticed that the people who do that are always more on the unattractive side of the spectrum. Maybe it’s less about being comfortable with yourself and more about completely giving up. Sometimes I am almost crippled by the fear of what other people think of me so I guess I have no room to talk but really? I mean reeeeallllly???
3. The lyrics of this song bring about a million questions to my mind but the biggest one is does anyone ever really feel this way? I have never met someone who felt like “home” to me. I’ve met people who I can be 100% comfortable with and totally myself but never someone that gives me that home feeling. The only person that can give me that feeling is myself. It’s when I feel content with life and am relaxing with a book or a cup of coffee. Knowing I have nothing to do and no where to be and I definitely have to be wearing sweatpants. So maybe to personalize the song for me the song lyrics would read,
“Home is whenever I’m with you, Sweatpants.”
…doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.
